Marafiki Foundation is committed to improving infectious disease diagnostics for underserved populations
Our mission is to provide infectious disease diagnostic tests to underserved populations, including developing nations. To this end, we facilitate technology transfer of current diagnostic technologies, making accessible to underserved populations. We plan to facilitate transfer of techonologies at non-profit prices and building of facilities so that developing nations can manufacture diagnostic tests that are inexpensive, yet modern.  Our focus of technology transfer and infastructure development will also provide economic growth, an added benefit to our main goal.
 

Company history
Marafiki Foundation, Inc. was founded in November 2006 and incorporated as a non-stock, non-profit corporation in the State of Virginia.  Directors for 2007 were appointed in January 2007; click here to learn more about our directors.  Marafiki was granted 501(c)3 tax-exempt status in March 2008.  Our current goal is to obtain grant funding to support the programatic work for our first project in Tanzania.
